Education and professional training
Mr Boerger undertook his primary medical degree at Free University Berlin, Germany, where he also completed a Research Doctorate. Mr Boerger then embarked on Basic Surgical Training at Imperial College in London. His published medical research is recognised worldwide (400 citations) and the research findings have contributed to current understanding in the biomechanics of the fracture studied. He then completed the Higher Specialist Trauma / Orthopaedic training at North West Thames / Imperial College London, UK. Mr Boerger is also subspecialty and fellowship-trained in both Hip and Knee Arthroplasty (Replacement) and Soft Tissue/Ligament Reconstruction in Florence, Italy, as well as Canberra and Sydney of Australia.

Mr Boerger is a Consultant Specialist Knee Surgeon. With a career spanning three decades, Mr. Boerger is fully licenced and registered in the UK & Gibraltar as well as in Spain. Procedures undertaken:
• Total knee replacement
• Partial knee replacement
• Bilateral partial knee replacement
• Robotic assisted total and partial knee replacement. (CORI)
• Arthroscopy of the knee
• Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR)
• ACLR in combination with lateral extra-articular tenodesis or LCLR
