Diagnostics & Imaging

GibMed’s Diagnostic Imaging Centre provides a comprehensive range of advanced medical imaging services —including MRI, CT, DEXA, ultrasound, digital X-ray, and fluoroscopy—within a single modern facility. The centre combines high-end technology with strict UK-standard safety protocols to deliver accurate diagnostics while prioritising patient comfort and minimal radiation exposure.

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
MRI is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed images of soft tissues such as the brain, spine, joints, and internal organs, without ionising radiation. GibMed uses a high-field 3 Tesla GE MRI scanner, offering high-resolution 3D images, enhanced patient comfort features, and expert reporting, with results typically available within 2–3 working days.

CT (Computed Tomography) Scan
CT scanning uses X-rays to create fast, detailed cross-sectional images of the body, allowing clear visualisation of bones, organs, and soft tissues. GibMed’s state-of-the-art multi-slice CT scanner delivers high-resolution images for accurate diagnosis, with all examinations performed under strict radiation protection standards to keep exposure as low as reasonably practicable.

DEXA (Bone Densitometry) Scan
A DEXA scan is a quick, low-dose X-ray test used to measure bone mineral density and assess the risk of osteoporosis and fractures. GibMed’s modern DEXA system provides precise bone health assessments while maintaining high safety standards in line with UK regulations.

X-ray
X-rays use electromagnetic radiation to create images of internal structures, particularly bones and joints, and are commonly used to diagnose fractures, infections, and other conditions. GibMed offers advanced digital X-ray imaging, delivering rapid, accurate results with minimised radiation exposure and prompt professional reporting.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive imaging method that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time images of soft tissues, organs, blood flow, and pregnancies, without radiation. At GibMed, ultrasound scans are performed by HCPC-registered radiographers, reported by GMC-registered radiologists, and results are usually available within 2–3 working days.

Fluoroscopy
Fluoroscopy is a real-time X-ray technique that allows clinicians to observe movement within the body, such as swallowing, joint motion, or the placement of medical instruments during procedures. GibMed provides advanced fluoroscopy services using controlled radiation doses and UK-standard safety protocols to ensure precise, dynamic imaging while minimising risk.
